Where Are The Animals From?
It is revealed that the animals originate from another planet, in which the inhabitants can shift between a humanoid form and an animalistic form. Their original planet, Grimm, has a hierarchical society based on what kind of animal the people are, and at the very top are the rabbits, with Jieun as their prince. Lighter coloured fur, and especially fur that's only one solid colour, is seen as more valuable/attractive than darker or multicoloured fur, but grey/silver fur is seen as a bad omen, whereas white fur with red eyes is seen as a sacred good omen. Predators are much lower in the hierarchy, seen as more barbaric and savage, and they have difficult lives because of that.
The Wizard
Once the animals come to life, they each spend a year with Heejung before disappearing without explanation. It's then that Heejung meets the Wizard, who offers to grant her a wish in exchange for her memories. She chooses to sacrifice her memories for the chance that she might meet her love again, in all but Jieun's route, who explained to her ahead of time not to sacrifice herself for him, but to live for herself with the far-off hope of returning to him again.
We see through the Wizard's eyes, in the secret ending, the story of Dandelion. He is a being with many magical abilities, like manipulating time, shapeshifting, and a variety of other powers, but most importantly is his ability to grant wishes. He can only be seen by people who have a wish in need of granting though, and he can only fuel his powers by consuming others' memories.
Because of his ability to be invisible, he was able to watch Heejung for an amount of time, and soon became obsessed with her. However, she never had a desperate wish of her own, so he could never speak to her himself, and he had to manufacture a situation where she would finally need a wish granted. He travelled to Grimm and found five people in need of a desperate wish granted, and told them that if they could win Heejung's heart, he would grant them their wish. Therefore, the reason that the animals appeared in Heejung's life was because they were in a competition with each other to become the object of Heejung's wish.
Whilst Heejung desperately wishes for something, the Wizard is able to meet her in person. Due to his ability to rewind time, he can simply grant her wish and then travel back in time so that she may fall in love again, and lose again, and wish again, and again and again and again... This is the explanation for why Heejung had to experience every other route before reaching the Wizard's route.
But using his powers over and over again made him weaker, and he wasn't consuming enough memories to fulfill the amount of magic needed to keep up his obsession. So at the very end, he granted one final wish: his own. He made the wish to be with Heejung forever, and in doing so gave up his powers, along with all of his and Heejung's memories. This ambiguous twist is the ending of Dandelion's story.
